Whoopie Goldberg was shaken and upset on The View today as she talked about how her "comedic gig" at a recent Atlantic City performance wasn't up to par. She states as she came out to start her show, there was a guy taking her pic with his cellphone. When asked why he was doing it, the man replied that it was because he loved her. Apparently this upset her to the point that she felt because of all of the cellphones people were using in the audience...she was ultimately unable to deliver a great show.Adding that she didn't want/feared her material showing up on Youtube.
Cellphones are purposedly forbidden in most standup shows, but, it seems that people still do use them. Whoopie Goldberg and Joy Behar, both comedians, voiced their fear of their works being pirated by users of youtube...showing up all over the internet....in most instances, not in the most favorable light. Joy Behar cited how she'd sang a song she'd written during one of her performances, only to have it captured by someone's cellphone.
Whoopie Goldberg ended her tirade (I think was justified) by asking those who come out to see her shows/have a good time, Not use their cellphones...I remember being a whole lot disappointed when I went to see "Wicked" for Mothers Day, only to be told that I couldn't capture those georgeous costumes in the production...no cellphones allowed!
