Elie Saab's fall/winter 2008 collection could not have been more feminine and sublime. (According to style.com, his collection was inspired by Piet Mondrian's canvases, each painted to reflect an idealized view of reality -- one which has perfect harmony and balance.) So why was I reminded of traditional Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) folk art? Is Elie trying to invoke the spirits, or do I need to get my head checked? (Don't answer that!)
