Moving from the stone ages into the 21st century, the inspiration for Hussein Chalayan's Autumn/Winter 2008 collection was simple: human evolution. Using everything from Stone Age flint axe heads to rough-cut Swarovski stones, Chalayan managed to showcase some highly-evolved designs with the help of rocks (one of mother nature's best kept fashion secrets).
To his credit, he managed to turn something as simple and primitive as a stone into something surprisingly modern. And, as you will see from the following pieces, fellow designers in fashion, interior design, and technology, share Chalayan's affinity for this primordial aesthetic.
