Fads...or Trends in mainstream fashion, is it worth buying these clothes to be 'in' or up to date??
I was cleaning out my wardrobe today and the amount of brand new clothes i found was astounding. Clothes that i hadn't seen for years.
Now, when you clean out your wardrobe, that usually includes getting rid of some items but which ones do you get rid of first?
The ones that are too small? The ones that are ruined? The ones that faded and aged? Or the ones that will never see daylight because they are soo 'yesterday' or 'last year'
Now when i got rid of all of the clothing that was small, damaged and faded there i was left with a pile of clothes i looked at with a crinkled nose...The SoHotBackThen Clothes....
Now I realise that why buy countless numbers of super cool spur of the moments pieces than a few timeless ones? I look at my fabulous gypsy skirt, My oh so trendy tiered miniskirt, peasant tops, My oh so hot/hideous fur ugg boots, and ohmygod clogs (how the heck was that in fashion?) just to name a few. While they were all that when everyone was wearing them, they still fit me perfectly and i don't think i will ever wear them again because EVERYONE knows they were yesterdays news.
I just want to bring to attention that people should stop buying mainstream 'fitting in' garments and start buy 'omg, i love that because it's so unique' garments.
You now may be thinking, 'Not everyone can afford super expensives and unique couture' but everyone can go looking for bargains in those cute little asian botiques that you can find almost anywhere, You'd be surprised how many hidden gems there really are!
SO, get out there and make a statement!
xx
Au revoir
