It took a lot from me to wait for the new 3G version of the iPhone and not to shell out $399 right away...

Well now the wait is officially over - the 3G iphone release date is 7/11! I really tried to wait for: Gphone, Blackberry, LG and Palm to pull a rabbit out of the hat but I don't see them betting Apple's Ace device.

There seem to be so much more packed in this 2.0 version: double the browsing speed (on AT&T's 3G network), Aps with GPS, MS Exchange if you are a corp user but maybe the biggest news of all 8GB is available for $199, 16GB for $299. Not sure as to At&t plan yet but these prices will lock you for a 2 yr contract. Sounds like it's still worth to switch from Verizon.

Cons? if you can call em that: still no flash support in Safari and no front facing camera for those 3G video calls, emmm... I will live with those.

I am going to preorder one very soon...
