I am taking a chance here writing probably the geekiest post on MyItThings, it's about my favorite book series of all time called Dragonlance
In the mid 80's before the era of the Internet and MMORPG there was a game that required no board, no money notes, and didn't even had an ending. It was called Dungeons & Dragons or D&D for short, the game captivated millions of people (myself included) around the globe and many play it even today. As the 4th edition of the game planned for release in 4 days
and the Worldwide D&D Game Day set for St, June 7th I think it's clear that even today all really need is a healthy imagination to have some fun playing RPG.
The game also spawned many fantasy worlds designed on the game's framework, such as: Kara-Tur, Forgotten Realms, Dark Sun... and my favorite Dragonlance. The histories of these worlds are detailed in hundreds of books that line the shelfs of any self respecting bookstore's fantasy section. The history of Dragonlance was mainly told by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman and got to be Bestsellers, first there was Dragonlance Chronicles Trilogy
which started it all 3 great books that are a must for fantasy lovers, they have followed up with Dragonlance Legends
and The War of Souls Trilogy
both great book series that could read by themselves.
And now after long years of waiting Weis & Hickman have started to release The Lost Chronicles with Volume 1: Dragons Of The Dwarven Depths
released last May and Volume 2: Dragons of the Highlord Skies
released in Jan the last book of this trilogy "Dragons of the Hourglass Mage" is planned for July. These latest books complete parts of the original Chronicles and are great reading if you read the originals, If you have not but you are a fan of titles like: The Lord of the Rings
, World of Warcraft or The Chronicles of Narnia
then... I suggest you start reading!
Have fun
