In case you happen to be in Tokio some time soon, this is a great exhibition to go to. These are the highlights.
Japan uses more robots than any other country. As one of the world’s leading “robot kingdoms,” the development of robot technology is very alive and well here, with Japan boasting much of the world’s most advanced robot technology. At this exhibition, we start with the earliest intimations of robotics in Japan: traditional mechanical dolls called karakuri, and move rapidly forward to world-leading Japanese robots such as bipedal walking robots and industrial robots. The exhibition also displays robots of the future as depicted in manga (comic books) and anime(animated movies), and examines from a science history perspective how robots may drive the future development of the Japanese economy. Visitors can also enjoy such “live” spectacles as a self-playing piano using cutting-edge control technology, and a variety of stage events starring robots and karakuri.
At the Robot Exhibition, experience for yourself a trip through the history of robot technology, the thrill and magic of things being made, and a look into the exciting future that today’s science and technology are working toward.
