Are You Green Enough?
Are You Green Enough?

Human, who claim to be the wisest of all creatures in the world, sure are the most destructive. We think we are so smart and assume from our knowledge and learning and create things that make our lifestyle easier. From cleaning products that is harmful for the environment we pollute our waters, make things like disposable diapers so we don’t have to wash babies soil cloth diapers (I can write a whole book on cloth vs. disposable diapers, check the links below). Don’t even get me started on motor vehicles, we feel so proud of this invention, the gas guzzler the number one cause of destroying the O zone layer, did you knew that extreme sports vehicle like mountain biking and motocross is also damage the soil? Most recent contraption which boggles my mind is gene modification GM, this supposes to end world hunger or will it?

Do you know that we start celebrating earth day back in 1960, almost 50 years ago? Celebrate earth day how?  By picking up a shovel and planting a couple of trees here and there and feel proud of ourselves, while cutting down the whole forest to make room for that new trendy shopping mall even though there is an old shopping centre is empty on the other side of town.  What took us so long to open our eyes and do something more than planting a tree? Is it too late to save our planet, can we go back to our natural way of life, without disposable diapers, wipes, paper products like toilet paper, napkins, plates and cups, Ziploc bags and such?

It’s never too late, the earth is trying to heal itself we pollute the environment and consume natural resources faster than nature can restore itself. Read this amazing ray of hope by Dr. Jane Goodall http://www.janegoodall.org/jane/essay.asp

Turn off the water when brushing your teeth, turn off the lights when leaving the room, I see so many business leaving their partial lights on at night. TURN IT OFF. Walk or ride a bike instead of driving, good for the heart, good for the environment.

We are looking for easy way out, think we are so smart, we have plan to save the human kind and the  universe, but it turns out that we are the sole reason for the destruction of Mother Earth. Don’t try to end the world hunger, let’s do the little things, my mom always said it’s the drop of water which puts the hole in the mighty rock.
