Barclay Martin breezed into my life during a warm summer night in July of 2005. He sang his soulful heartfelt songs from the "stage" at the C-Note bar in Alphabet City, NYC to a crowd of maybe 7 people. The road he has travelled since has taken him so much farther than most people travel in a lifetime.
Barclay, himself, is a charming easy going man with a smile in his eyes, and a deep understanding of the human condition. One can not help but feel a little bit more peaceful in his presence. He' ll make you feel at home...or at least every brief visit he spent in NYC, this big ole city felt a little bit smaller, warmer, and more like a place a lost midwestern girl could call home.
His songs are stories of life told with simple lyrics that carry the complexities of graceful harmonies and gentle beats that bring me just a touch closer to his world. Right now, his world consists of the Phillippines and a large scale music project that brought together people from all over the country.

I am grateful and honored to have Barclay as a dear friend of mine. I miss his friendship since he' s been out of the country for months working on this project. He is like a brother to me and I am proud of the goodwill he is putting forth into the world.
Take a listen and you just may feel inspired.
