It happens to be that I grew up on “Vassilisa the Beautiful,” the classic Russian fairytale about the life of a poor girl, including the charming prince happy-ending (obviously:). Recently, the mythological beauty was brought to life by an eponymous London based fashion line.
Vassilisa, a luxury fashion label designed by Nadja Solovieva, a graduate of Central St. Martins in London is inspired by myth, history, art, nobility and folklore.
We've got a sneak peek at Vassilisa's Spring/Summer 2009 collection, made from romantic silk and chiffon prints hinting seventeenth century silhouettes. The collection includes dresses, separates, caftans and scarves. Prints are custom made and include delicate chains, romantic floral and ancient lettering in hues of soft blues, oranges, black and white, green and rose.
Something that will definitely work on your Prince Charming...
