Couple of weeks ago I had a pleasure of meeting the face of pureDKNY - the gorgeous Angela Lindvall, who was chosen by the brand as much for her eco-conscious lifestyle as for her natural beauty. She made her way from California and the sustainable community she lives at to talk to editors about the new scent and the way it embodies her own way of living.

Angela is one of those people who were part of the green movement long before it became fashionable, speaking to people about the small changes they can make in their lives that can make a huge difference. She talks the talk and practices what she believes in a very stylish, approachable way.

The event, set up in a gorgeous NYC loft with powerful messages on the walls, and decorated with elegant and simple bottles of pureDKNY and Vanilla sticks - the signature scent that sets the tone of this fragrance. Sensuous and tender, pureDKNY is the epitome of simple luxury – a drop of Vanilla in water as its signature note.

Important to note that because pureDKNY strives to be responsible, conscious and environmentally ware, the drop of vanilla in water in each fragrance is sourced from vanilla bean farmers in Uganda, the majority of whom are women. pureDKNY is partnering with CARE, a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty, to help these women who are playing an integral role in the creation of the fragrance. 

Even the packaging communicates its message in style and in substance. The clear glass bottle is inspired by a raindrop – all curves and no hard edges. The glass is 100% recyclable. The carton is printed with lower VOC inks and made from Certified Forest paper.

pureDKNY is available exclusively at Nordstrom beginning in July 2010 and will roll-out to fine department stores nationwide in August 2010. In addition, you can find it online at DKNY.com
