My office has a Casual Friday policy. Now this does not mean you can come to work in shorts and flip-flops, but jeans are acceptable so long as they’re paired with a nice top (i.e. office acceptable!).

I love being able to wear jeans to the office once a week. What I hate is most of my jeans look, well, like jeans. In my opinion, they’re too casual. And while others may be okay with pushing the envelope on Fridays, I personally don’t want to dress as if I’m getting ready to crack open a beer in my backyard. I want to maintain a level of professionalism, even if I am wearing denim. This is why I began my search for a pair of jeans that would look good enough for work, and still be comfortable and casual.

My search took me to Victoria’s Secret. Known mostly for their lingerie lines, many people are unaware of the great clothes they sell. I’ve been a fan of their clothing for a while, and I find it to be of good quality at a good price. And I was happy to find they offered just what I was looking for: trouser jeans.

These jeans are made from a lighter weight denim than regular jeans, and they came in the darker wash color I was looking for (darker jeans tend to look more dressy, whereas lighter colored jeans look more casual). Best of all is the cut of the jean. Made to look like a pair of trouser pants, they look great when paired with button-ups and other standard office fair. Another great thing is these jeans pull double-duty, because when paired with a flirty top and heeled shoes or sandals, it becomes a great casual date outfit. And we all know how difficult it can be to find the perfect date outfit!
