I don't think there's a person I know who hasn't been touched, in some way, by breast cancer. Here at The Sale Rack, both Mary & I have been closely affected by it. Two dear friends of Mary's have battled the disease at relatively young ages, one in remission and the other currently fighting. My mother is going on 17 years of being a survivor. Yay!
My mom & I walked in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day ten years ago, and what an incredibly emotional and powerful event that was. To think that we're still walking, raising money and donating our time and energy is remarkable. But our mothers, daughters, aunties, sisters, and friends are still suffering and losing the battle to this terrible disease; it's just crazy.

...My mom & me, already crying at the start of the 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk.
All this week The Sale Rack will be writing about great deals & beautiful finds on items that will not only enhance your life, but that will benefit the lives of others too. If you need a reason to shop, this is a great one. So shop on my friends, shop on.

If you want to send your guests home with a lovely remembrance of your big day and still contribute to Breast Cancer Awareness, don't miss these "In Favor of a Cure" Pink Ribbon Favor Boxes. 10% of the net proceeds of these favors goes to the Young Survival Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the unique issues and concerns that are important to young women with breast cancer.
This past Friday, Mary & I attended Fashion In Detroit where we met Molly McDonald, a breast cancer survivor and founder of The Pink Fund. The Pink Fund's mission is to provide short-term financial aid to women (and their families) who are in active treatment for and recovery from breast cancer. We'll have more on The Pink Fund later this week but wanted to share this remarkable organization with you now. Please check it out and if you can, donate.
