Los Angeles- July 2008: Women in today’s society are expected to have a wide range of talents and jobs. Like our predecessors we are "mommy" and take care of the children, home and husband. We are also expected to perform in the workforce at the same level if not better than a man. Today’s world is all about female empowerment. When chivalry and fidelity are a thing of the past and often hard to come by, we can no longer just sit by and let the man make choices that inevitably affect us. These ladies must be proactive and empowered and when we get knocked down, we have to spring right back up! Shattered Girlz clothing line and merchandise is all about that…a cute and fresh way of expressing female empowerment!

The founder of Shattered Girlz, Debra Waibel, is one woman who put her broken heart to good use, for not only herself but for other girlz throughout the country! Debra was tired of digging her way out of a deep, dark hole of failed romance and being left with a feeling of loss. She gained her strength and created Shattered Girlz, an apparel and merchandise line with girl power and girl vision.

The line focuses on Dolly Tatume, the main character. This cute, tattooed character embraces the "kick-him-to-the-curb" mentality, and empowers her to be an independent woman who stands on her own. If things don’t work out, she will press on. Monster is her loving canine sidekick and her former boyfriends are reduced to rocker piggys who happen to play in the band the Smashing Pigs.

The collection is the first interactive apparel line and is great for all of us who have had our heart broken and still have something to say or for those who may just like the cute and quirky presence Dolly presents. Ladies have the option of picking a shirt already created or just simply write a "Dear Piggy" letter about their own piggy. In this way, they can vent their frustration over how he hurt them, and if their letter is chosen as the best, it will be printed on Shattered Girlz apparel and merchandise for them or other girlz to purchase, characters included!
