Jim Haynes
Jim Haynes has been hosting creative havens for artists since the autumn of 1959 when he turned a junk shop into Edinburgh's first paperback bookstore. A bookstore that became the birthplace of the Edinburgh Festival's literary conference and the coffeehouse hangout for local artisans. Later he became the genius behind the Arts Lab in London, a creative center for progressive, fringe, and political artistic theatrics. He has produced over 250 plays and productions and now, retired from his professorship, lives in Paris where he hosts weekly dinners for the artistic minds spanning generations. For the cost of a trip to Paris, and a donation towards the cost of your meal (around $30), you can spend a Sunday evening wining and dinning with the legendary Jim Haynes and his creative entourage. His address and phone number are listed on his website, and he requires that you make a reservation in advance.
