It’s no surprise that we lust after the latest footwear trends and styles, and then naturally use our savvy shopping skills to find similar versions for less. We’ve identified several top footwear trends straight from the runways that will take you into the fall/winter season, and in the coming weeks, will reveal each trend alongside affordable styles for each so that you can buy them all this season! This week, we step into the menswear-inspired shoe trend.

Menswear Detailing

Runway looks we loved: Bottega Veneta, Donna Karan, House of Holland, Miu Miu

Oxfords, lace-ups, tassles, loafers, perforated leather, wing tips -- once considered the backbone detailing of men’s dress shoes -- have crossed into female territory this season with feminine additions such as high heels, funky, bright colors, and a much more tailored shape. Our favorite style inspired by menswear is the one that resembles an upturned men’s oxford shoe, with a stacked or smooth heel. Some of these styles definitely have a granny vibe, mixed in with a dose of updated modern chic. Get the look without shelling out a ton of money wth these Guess by Marciano 'Nitty' Slingback Oxfords or the BCBGirls 'Cherie' Booties, (both $85, Nordstrom). Report ‘Ellis’ Oxfords ($189, Zappos.com) -- we’re really into the subtle peep toe detail!

You can still get the patent leather look for less with these Franco Sarto "Deer" Black Oxford Pumps ($79, Bloomingdale's). On the contrary, if you don’t want to make that much of an investment in the trend, check out these decidedly retro Patent Oxford T-Strap Heels ($20, Amazon.com), and the Unlisted Sugar Cookie Oxfords ($52, Zappos.com) with cut-out detailing higher on the foot which also lends itself to the gradient color trend. The Opening Ceremony Lace Up Oxford Platform Pumps ($109, Shopbop.com) are almost an exact replica of Buster Brown oxfords with of course the addition of a platform and a high heel! The natural, cream color these shoes come in gives the whole trend a fresh feel, acknowledging that it can work in more than just a basic black color. Pair them with some textured or brightly-colored leggings to get more of an accurate “runway” look. If instead you’d like to wear pants with this style, we’d recommend either an extremely skinny leg, or a wide one – nothing in between, such as bootleg or a shorter capri length.

We hope you’ve found a few styles to indulge in, and stay tuned for our next three footwear trends!
