Must-Have Accessories Under $35
Must-Have Accessories Under $3...

We firmly believe a good repertoire of fashionable accessories can keep you looking fresh and chic, even if you wear basic jeans, tees, or wrap dresses everyday. That’s because accessories are the final touches to your appearance. Without them, you look incomplete. Keep each of the following affordable accessories on hand, and you’ll always look pulled together and polished -- while still being able to afford your extremely necessary morning double shot cappuccino.

First and foremost, you need a cool handbag. You carry one around all day, every day, so we think it deserves a bit of attention. We’re all about buying bags that appear to be far more expensive than they are, perhaps with designer details or realistic-looking faux leather. We love this Soho Handbag ($34, Lulu’s Fashion Lounge) because it strongly resembles the Chloé style, while the Parker Quilted Handbag ($32.80, Forever 21) -- with its quilted material and chain strap -- taps into the classic Chanel aesthetic.

It’s always nice to have a variety of jewelry to match whatever you’re wearing that day, but at the very least, invest in a few personality-laden pieces that are still very versatile. We’re partial to a pendant necklace because the charm can give you a quirky pop, while still being basic enough for most outfits. For example, this "Right on Time" Watch Necklace ($23, Lulu’s Fashion Lounge) is unusual and fun, but the gold and white tones will coordinate with most everything. A great ring or bracelet in gold or silver can also work day in and out, especially if it’s as chic and simple as this Faceted Oval Stone Ring or Textured Chain Bracelet (both $4.80, Forever 21).

For the fashionable lady (such as yourself), a belt is also essential, for purposes other than just keeping your pants up. They’re great to have on hand for cinching and visual interest. Sometimes a billowy blouse or sheath dress is too baggy or uniform; a belt can shape and break up the look. Old Navy has some great options, including this Skinny Faux-Patent Belt ($12.50) in a variety of colors. Finally, cap any look off with a pair of chic shades. Oversized frames are always impressive, so they’re a reliable choice. Try these Isaac Mizrahi for Target Bold Plastic Square Sunglasses ($17.99, Target).

Having a cache of good accessories is just as important as maintaining a vibrant wardrobe. We hope you’ll take our suggestions and enhance your collection of jewelry, handbags, belts, and sunglasses today.
