hether you're secretly addicted to
The Hills, or outright embrace your love for it, most everyone can agree that the ladies of the glamorous locale typify stylish LA fashion. Even when they're sporting formal-wear, they look beach-ready with glowing skin, flirty style, and sun-kissed hair. In celebration of the new season, we've rounded up some
Hills-worthy apparel and accessories.
For casual wear, none of the ladies shy from the basic girl's best friend: denim. Audrina opts for low-rise, skinny jeans, while Lauren has been seen strutting around town with a wider leg jean. We think either these Lowest Rise Panel Leg "The Diva" Skinny Jeans ($34.50, Old Navy) or The Perfect Trouser Jeans ($59.50, The Gap) are great options for each respective style. A soft t-shirt with a long, lean cut -- like the Bop Basics Short Sleeve V Neck Burnout Tee ($45, Shopbop.com) or Truly Madly Deeply Deep V Tee ($24, Urban Outfitters) -- is a casual cool topper, but the real luxury comes in with the handbags. LC is constantly seen with either a Linea Pelle or CC Skye handbag. In fact, she even designed a small collection for Linea Pelle! You can shop her own accessories here, or go for a similar "leather and chains" look with the Sarah Faux Croc Tote ($39.99, Baghaus.com), Mossimo Top Zip Bag ($24.99, Target), or La Regale Crinkle Clutch ($24, eBags.com).
When it comes to dresses -- which it frequently does for The Hills look -- the length has to be either mini or maxi; nothing in between will do. For example, Audrina frequently sports a trapeze style dress with a jewel/halter neckline that is knee-grazing in length. Or favorite example of this style is the aqua frock she wore to a Hills event (pictured left). Both the Tribal Bead Shift Dress and Jeweled Trapeze Dress ($24.80 and $29.80 respectively; both Forever 21) follow the same silhouette. The former features ethnic details while the latter introduces bright yellow and purple to your palette. LC similarly goes for short styles, but she has also been a recent advocate for the maxi trend -- most likely because the style is both laidback and soft, while still emanating a chic aesthetic. To emulate LC's long tendencies, try this X Back Maxi Dress ($25.50, Wet Seal); the halter neckline is ideal with a maxi style because it is congruous with the elongated line of the dress. You could also get adventurous and add a print into the mix with this rustic, crosshatched Plunge Twist Max Dress ($24.50, Wet Seal). But there's no better way to get LC's look than with her own line of apparel. We love the split, flutter sleeves on both the Tina Top ($68, Emily Grace) and Taylor Dress ($180, Shopbop.com), as well as the billow to this Kiki Tank ($25.20, Shopbop.com). Or, go all out and get the dress that Conrad wore on the runway after her own fashion show. The Jasmine Tiered Dress is sweet and playful ($215, on pre-order at Singer22.com).
Every Hills-inspired look however must end with the hair. Each one of the girls from the show is crowned with a coif of super shiny, voluminous locks. Try getting some full, bouncy hair by applying heat (by way of this top-of-the-line CHI Rocket Professional Hair Dryer, $119) to some large rollers, like these Conair Instant Heat Travel Hairsetter Jumbo-Sized Soft Velvety Rollers ($19.99, Drugstore.com). The rollers are big enough that they'll give you volume, not major curls. Or get a Heidi-inspired look and blow it straight with this Conair Mega Ceramic Thermal Round Brush ($10.99, Target). Finish any of the looks by smoothing on some Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream ($9, Beauty.com) and -- if you're an LC fan -- a headband like one from this Set of 5 Skinny Headbands ($10, Urban Outfitters).
So whether you're a proclaimed fan or a secret viewer, now you can bring The Hills home -- or at least into your closet -- with our style guide.
