A very, I mean extremely, hot passion and obsession among crafters is this thing called ACEOs. They're basically miniature paintings or any other type of art (sized 2.5" x 3.5"). Yes, one could make an ACEO out of fabric or needle felting, etc. It's not just paintings or art prints, but it is those, too.
Sellers on Etsy.com sell these and and buy 'em up, with a little bit of remembrance to their inspiration, trading cards. ACEOs are artist trading cards with a twist - money can be made, but they still promote the crafter well.
Buyers can afford, with their small display sizes and prices to match (even on original paintings), to truly collect these tiny masterpieces.
My choice pick for an ACEO artist (and more) is Fanciful Flair, because her displays in product photos deliciously depict tiny easels that make her mini art look scrumptous!
It's also one more nudge to make we want to start in on this practice - with fabric, fibre and graphics, for me.
