Fashion is constantly changing: styles get redefined and trends rise and fall. But how we see and experience the looks on a typical runway has changed. Imagine shopping online and seeing the clothes on the models up close and in a three-dimensional manner. Ever the forward thinking innovator, Norma Kamali has launched a new 3D website. In fact, during fashion week, her 67 looks did not come down the catwalk, instead they were on mod models dancing about on a screen projection. Upon first look everything seemed like it was experiencing a technical malfunction, but once guests put their customized anaglyphic cat-eye glasses, the images of models on the screen became more vivid and the details of the clothes were more vibrant. Attendees were also able to get a sneak peek of the new 3D website, normakamali3d.com to view and interact with the clothes, play a game, and buy what they like in a way that has never been done before. Though the site can be viewed on 2D or with polarized sunglasses, more than 16,000 fans have already been sent a cat-eye shaped 3D glasses. The collection itself contains some of Kamali's signature designs in it: Marilyn Monroe-esque halter dresses with plunging necklines, retro-cut one-piece bathing suits, and geometrically inspired dresses in stripes and polka dots. Long trains on shirts and jackets were also presented with basic pieces to add more pizazz. Shimmery bronzes and golds, tangerine, blues, blacks and whites, and chartreuse heightened the electrifying presentation. When asked what made her decide to go this route, Norma Kamali, answered "It just makes the clothes pop for you...and it's just fun!" What do you think? Will you be shopping in 3D?
