This season, designer Laura Poretzky examined the dichotomy of the two sides of a woman: the things she does from reason and those she does from the heart. The heart side of the collection was manifested in relaxed silhouettes with girly details like bows and flirty fabrics and bright colors. Reason was seen in the structured garments that showcased elements of underpinnings like boning and exposed casing, giving the clothes a jagged and sophisticated look.
Poretzky also found inspiration for the color palette in summers spent in the South of France, particularly the contrast between the bright swimsuits and blues of the ocean and sky. These summery elements came through not only in the bright pops of neon, but also in an updated seersucker-like pattern.
The best pieces in the collection undoubtedly came from the “heart” where the flirty and summery clothes in boxy silhouettes offered something fresh and exciting for Spring.
