Yigal Azrouel's newest line, Cut 25, was a burst of colorful flair with pieces for the hippest surfer babes or wannabes! Who said a downtown New Yorker can't exude that 80's beach vibe? So what was that one uber-stark trend in the collection? Down to the shoes, without a doubt, bright solid colors. Fun fact: no color is too bold to pair together.
Talking with Yigal:
What was your inspiration for the collection?
"The biggest inspiration was surfer, early 80’s eclectic feeling. I myself am a surfer, so I remember wearing polos. How that will look today, making it futuristic and modern."
On CUT 25—
"The line is something missing in the market, so I am trying to do something a bit more fun, more interesting, athletic. I have customers that can’t afford the Yigal collection, so this is a good price point, and the quality you get here is great."
On preparing (showing) 3 collections at NYFW—
"It’s a lot of work. I am showing three collections including my mens collection. I guess I can handle that."
Who else is looking forward to this collection joining the spring market?
