Thuy’s self-entitled line, which debuted at Bryant Park last season, showed great promise. And her fall line-up didn’t disappoint. Growing up in a family of tailors, Thuy showed a deft hand on design technique displayed through her spot-on tailoring and precision cutting. Yet, her unique point-of-view came through clearly, marking a spot for her to stay put in this waveringly fashion business.
Reminiscent of Vera Wang, Thuy focus this time around was on functional, modern separates and dresses with a sporty elegance. Relaxed silhouettes, clean lines, graphic prints and athletic details were common threads throughout the collection. Along with smart, reality-friendly two-piece and three-piece looks—like the brush-stroked slim cut pant layered with a metallic tank and black tuxedo-styled jacket ensemble—the highlights were the fluid dresses accented with zippers and drawstring details, in colors ranging from graphite to citron. This is exactly how all women want to dress.
