Top Ways to Make a Small Kitchen Look Larger
Top Ways to Make a Small Kitch...

If your family is like ours, it's probably in the kitchen. But no matter how large a kitchen is, it never feels big enough. Need a creative, quick save to rescue your faded kitchen having limited time and less money. These are ways any do-it-yourselfer can accomplish on a barebones budget and still end up with a dynamite result. To create the small but efficient kitchen design, you need to work on three major areas of small kitchen design: storage, lighting, and appliances. Some of these ways can make your small kitchen look larger.

1. Create more storage For better storage and to save space, install a base cabinet that has the cabinet door attached to rollout shelves instead of swinging open on hinges. Store your most used appliances in this convenient cabinet. When the shelves are pulled out, you can easily reach items stored in the back of the cabinet.

2. Re-do cabinets Add glass fronts on wall cabinets or replace solid cabinet doors with glass fronts along one wall. It gives a more open feeling to the room. The use of light colored cabinets with glass doors.

3. Add light Consider under-the-counter lighting, the kitchen will appear larger. Also, use light colors when decorating and lighten cabinets and countertops.

4. Create height with taller wall cabinets Remove soffits and install cabinets to the ceiling. Or you can "stairstep" the cabinets. Start with a taller cabinet and then line the others progressively shorter. In the open space above the shorter cabinets you can display collectibles, baskets, teapots and so on. Store seldom-used items such as holiday dishes or serving pieces on top shelves of the taller cabinets. The insides of cabinet doors can be used to hang up everything from utensils, oven mitts, and other miscellaneous items.

lol, I only wish I could apply more of these tips to the kitchen in the apartment I'll be moving into this summer. Unfortunately, my kitchen is also my living room, and I can't change anything permanently. I might try to take one of your tips and put as much light in there as possible. Great article.
