From Tunisia to Cape Town, African inspired references sprung up all over the runways for Spring. Oscar de la Renta's Spring Collection was a perfect marriage of oversized ethnic patterned fabrics, beaded detailing, and classic silhouettes. While Ports 1961 took us on a  safari journey with Alek Wek, clothed in a saffron colored silk charmeuse gown and matching brocade turban. Black girls ruled at Heatherette as well. Silk dreadlocks and side afro-puffed ponytails were complimenting contrast to the deconstructed prom dresses featured in their Americana themed collection..
