Apple TV: The Next Tech Invention to Make Couples Even More Boring
Apple TV: The Next Tech Invent...

In the movie of my life, which is constantly being re-edited and touched up in my head, I am portrayed in my college and post college years as the fun friend. The fun friend that liked to consume alcohol and flirt wildly and irresponsibly with men at bars and who often felt physically ill on Saturday mornings… That was me and I was awesome until I landed in a serious relationship. And then, Fun Me, became very comfortable with saving dignity and money on my living room couch with my live-in, discussing subjects such as why the ceiling in our bedroom was starting to look darker and who was responsible for walking the dog, etc. Not fascinating stuff…. and I’m sure some of you can relate, which brings me to my next point.

If Fun You has been murdered by Love and you are now interested in staying at home on Fridays, AppleTV is something you might want to look into. This product won’t make you awesome again, but it can make your living room awesome again. It has a hard drive where movies can be loaded; it will play your iTunes collection and best of all, you have access to instant rentals. For those of you with On Demand, it may sound somewhat like that, but the rentals are better, quicker and include a much wider variety than On Demand does. Furthermore the image is better.

An added feature that I had no idea would be such a hit with company is the circulating of various album covers while music from your iTunes collection plays. This seems to mesmerize people to great lengths and often serves as a conversation launching pad, “Is that really Andrew W. K.’s cover?”

Anyway, if you have loads of dough to waste on technology, this might be something you want to think about.
