This weekend, I stumbled upon my seventh grade year book.
Pucka shell necklaces, Abercrombie & Fitch graphic tees, bad highlights and braces occupied everyone’s picture that I circled with a purple glitter gel pen to distinguish the B.F.F’s and S.F.L’S from the tragic haters and baby hoes.
Yes, junior high in the early 00s was pretty fantastical — considering those tiny tops that stretched to fit everyones body type were cool, Daria was still on MTV, and I had yet to meet the kid who would consistently took my after school snack money to help fund their underground school supplies ring.
In short, reminiscing can make for an enjoyable mental escape, especially when you’re surrounded by relatives whom you undoubtedly can’t stand. And if you’re into fashion, like me, New York Magazines Fall ‘08 Look Book will have you falling in love with Givenchy’s gold chain tops and Marc Jacobs pastel headbands all over again.
Touted as a kind of bi-annual fashion yearbook, the New York Look’s fall ‘08 issue features interviews with Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel Iman, and casting director James Scully as well as an amazing photo documentary of the NY, Milan, and Paris shows by Christopher Anderson.
And with that, Happy Monday everyone.
