They had it all there in advance, the maps, the hybrid view, Google Earth was up to date about it all from above. Now they are inviting us for the ride. Well, not just now, it came out about a year ago, but the new version recently released allows the user to customize their ride. Other than of course choosing the landscape (an actual real one) you can choose the type of plane and an airport.
