You may recall that legendary designer Vivienne Westwood caused a bit of a furor back during the début of the Sex and the City movie when she was believed to have said that the movie was "boring" and "not very fashionable." Equally shocking were the reports that she had left the premiere only ten minutes into the film. This was despite the fact that she had designed Carrie's wedding dress and her brand was prominently featured (more like and vaunted and worshipped) in several scenes.
Dame Westwood went on the record with British Vogue to clear up the false rumors, telling them:
"I stayed throughout the film, and was overjoyed to see Sarah Jessica in her beautiful wedding dress; furthermore, I have been delighted to notice recently how well young girls are dressing, and that they have clearly been inspired by the film."
I am sure Patricia Field feels vindicated.
