The newly revived Halston has faced a roller-coaster ride back into the ivory halls of fashion since Harvey Weinstein decided to back its rebirth a year ago. From the departure of celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe as creative director and the firing of head-designer Marco Zanini to the tepid reviews of its show at Fall 2008 Fashion Week, it seemed like the brand's renaissance might be shorter lived than last year's neon trend.
Alas, it seems that Halson is still alive and kicking. Yesterday, the fashion house announced its plans to show at the Museum of Modern Art during New York Fashion Week. Last season, Halson showed at the Gagosian Gallery in Chelsea so their plans for the MoMA are both in keeping with their past venue choices as well as signal a collection of possibly grander scale.
Only time will tell.
