Kimora Lee's Fabulosity for JC Penny

Kimora Lee's Fabulosity for JC Penny
Kimora Lee's Fabulosity for JC...

Kimora Lee Simmons celebrated her Fabulosity for JC Penny line last night at Hiro Ballroom.  Large sparkling chandeliers, put up specially for the show, hung from the ceiling to set the mood while champagne and hors d'oeuvres were passed around.

As the music got louder, the lights dimmed and Kimora made her way on stage.  Kimora herself looked gorgeous in a gold mini dress and introduced the collection, saying she was proud of it for its combination of affordability (an apropos statement in such a dreary economy) and fabulous-chic.

As Kimora walked backstage, a marching band complete with a giant drum came from the other direction onto the catwalk and got the crowd excited.

The collection itself consisted exclusively of separates such as track sweats, jeans with flirty tops and slight variations of the two.  There was also a lot of denim to be seen, of a dark wash variety with gold stitching and a tapered leg.  The emphasis was clearly on easy and young fashion for the urban girl.  Kimora knows her market well and her collection will likely be a hit with the young JC Penny's shopper looking for fun and fabulosity.

I love kimora lee simmons, this does not look like her it looks like JC Penny. These designs were perhaps over simplified. Kimora should have just kept it blingy.

I think it's great that she's coming out with her own line, but I wished she had named it something else. I'm so tired of the word "fabulosity".
