Four Layers of Beauty
Four Layers of Beauty
Now a days all you have to do is turn on your TV, check your mail, or click on the internet and you will have advertisements telling you that if you purchase their product, only then can you show how truly beautiful you are. But is this true? Don't get me wrong, I love having the latest and most fashionable shades of eye shadows and changing my lip colors to fit the season. But I now realize that I hate the idea of going out of the house without having at least some makeup on. You're probably thinking that’s not so bad, but I have come to believe I NEED cosmetics to be beautiful and I have begun to realize that my confidence is no longer in myself but rather in the products that I buy and what they make me into. I now know that every woman is capable of being attractive in more ways than just relying on the perfect skin treatment; these steps are what I refer to as my "Four Layers of Beauty".

The outer layer is what we females tend to focus on the most. It's what everyone notices at first glance, the one that we try to keep up to date with fashionable hairstyles, makeup tones, and clothing choices. Every woman has her own reason for taking the time to get ready every day. The three most popular reasons are because we love the way we feel as well at the attention we receive, we know people respond differently when we look well presented vs. sloppy, and we enjoy the ability to express ourselves through something as simple as cosmetics and clothing.

The second layer ties in with the first, because it also has to do with appearance, only this one is a little bit harder to maintain. I'm referring to our bodies as a whole. There is nothing that can replace the energetic and carefree manner of someone who is in shape and capable of doing new and exciting things.

When I speak of the third layer, I'm talking about your daily conduct and demeanor. No matter how long you work in front of that mirror you're not going to look beautiful with a huge frown on your face. In other words, there is nothing beautiful about a rude or inconsiderate person. Do your best to look on the bright side, be outgoing and considerate of others, this alone will attract other people to you.

The last and most important is to always be secure in who you are, even when you go out without "putting your face on" first. You are unique, with your own likes and dislike, your own ideas and aspirations. I guess you could even say that we are all imperfectly perfect. So go ahead and doll yourself up, just remember where your confidence really belongs. Once you do this you will realize that layers one and two are really just icing on the cake.
