design class at Long beach city college is very rigorous, not only do we draft our patterns but we also sew our garments, sketch our ideas, and then construct our outfit. On top of that every Monday we have a designers biography of a pre-selected designer by our instructor, either a video is shown by our teacher or a student from design three or four makes a power point presentation. two weeks ago a student from design four was up for her report. she had chosen a fairly new designer that not may people have heard of Mintee. Mintee Kalra at the young age of 17 took off for London to study at the illustrious Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion, where she then was employed at the Onward Kashiama Group. It was there that with much acquired experience that Mintee was given the extravagant opportunity to work with Alexander McQueen as one of his assistant's. After a five year stay in London Mintee moved back to the States. arriving in the united States she began working for Canali, a men's wear line located in the west cost, where she learned how to construct a business. In 2005 Mintee satya LLC or Mintee was founded. two years later in 2007  the International Design Awards heralded her with the Ready-to-Wear Designer of the Year. The market that Mintee designs for is contemporary sports wear or just above, with sophisticated dresses , Mintee fresh jewelry, and classy designs the seasons she  designed for are: fall, spring, and holiday. She uses natural fibers such a cotton and silk, as well as fabrics imported from Italy and Japan, for each collection she designs about twenty-three outfits.  With enticing designs and trendy jewelry i ponder why can't  a rejuvenating designer such as Mintte be more known.
