Mens Clothing: Why don't more men care?
Mens Clothing: Why don't more ...

What is it with todays men? They just don' t seem to care about how they look, I admit we are getting better, but the misconception that "metro-sexuality" is a trend, or a new idea, is not helping, because in fact, the non-caring man who wears ripped T-shirts and old jeans everyday is the trend, which actually started in the 1950' s with the greasers. It was not until then that men put no time or money into their appearance. Look back to the Egyptian era of Pharohs and you will see mens with extensive eye make-up and wigs, look back 500 years ago to England and mens were adorned with lace, silk, jewels and tights. And in the 1800' s mens were always well groomed and in suits and even up until the middles of the past century men wore clean tailored clothing and  generally wanted to look good. Why did we stop doing this and why do we harass the men who are trying to revive this the ancient practice of men actually looking good.

You know how women will often spend hours in front of the mirror trying to get at that perfect "effortless" look? I always wondered whether men do the same. Not hours, obviously (no makeup for men), but more time than they're letting on to women. It's interesting to think on.

I know I do, I think men need to spend a lot of preparing for the daily in term of their appearance, the only difference is they have to make it look as though the have done nothing, when clearly they have.

Hell yah. I consider myself rather fashionable and Im honestly so sick of seing other men walk around in baggy sweats or scene kids who think they're matching because they are wearing all black. Its rediculous. I get harrased almost daily by meetheads in stained clothes for what I wear (tight pants and colorful hoodies that match my shoes or something more respectable like a Pea coat ensemble of some sort). Why is not the other way around. Great article!

Well I know for me, I do. Usually at least hour per day, not all at once, but throughout the day, as I come across a mirror or something reflective, I take a glimpe and primp myself. I actually enjoy doing my hair, and grooming so much, I do for fun, even if I know I will not see anyone, I do it for myself, I guess.
